ZONING

Zoning is where the HVAC system monitors different parts of the house separately and adjusts the heating, cooling, and air flow to fit that localized area. Zoning is more efficient than traditional one-zone systems in that you aren't having to heat or cool the entire home.

VARIABLE SPEED FAN FURNACES

Variable speed fans increase the life of your furnace by gently accelerating the fan to operating speed, rather than abruptly starting and stopping the electric motor. This results in lower wear. In addition, variable speed furnaces are more efficient and energy efficient than typical furnaces.

SEER RATING

The SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) of each air conditioner determines the efficiency with which it exchanges heat with the environment. The minimum code requirement has recently gone up to 13 SEER, and WATERWAYS is fully prepared with many solutions that meet or exceed code requirements.

ENERGY STAR QUALIFICATIONS

The US Environmental Protection Agency and US Department of Energy have a popular program for energy conservation called ENERGY STAR. The ENERGY STAR program certifies that appliances, homes, and systems are energy efficient and meet strict guidelines set by the EPA and US DoE. HEAT-RECOVERY VENTILATORS (HRV) & ENERGY-RECOVERY VENTILATORS (ERV)

HRVs enable a home to have sufficient ventilation without allowing costly heated air to excape. ERVs are similar but are typically used for warmer climates.

MEDIA AND ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANERS

With homes being built more airtight, air quality becomes an issue. Media (traditional) filters help to a certain extent, but if you want the ultimate in air quality, electronic air cleaners are the best way to go. Dust particles, pollen, and other pollutants are attracted to the electrically charged elements in the filter and the air is cleaned without restricting air flow.
